The definitive single layer, soft shell, highly specification lightweight mountain top.
The Extreme is a base-layer, mid-layer and outer layer combined. For optimum lightweight comfort and performance it should be worn against the skin or over a fast wicking technical layer. This is a clothing system for the really active user who wants to minimise the stop/start routine associated with adjusting a traditional layered clothing system. Through sophisticated venting and construction details, the Extreme smock offers comfortable use across a much wider range of temperatures than competitive products of this type. It is ideally suited to all high activity outdoor sports in extreme weather conditions.

This is one of my favourite items i've ever bought. Really warm and cosy, i've worn it as much as possible over the past few weeks, don't want to take it off! Chose it over a Buffalo jacket as its cheaper, warmer, has reinforced panels, is better cut, looks better and has a thicker pile lining. Would recommend it.
Already having two buffalo tops (Mountain shirt and active lite shirt) I was a little apprehensive of how good this Montane product would be....lets just say I wasn`t diappointed! The quality is superb, with the outer pertex 6 being very tough, and reinforced by under arm panels. The fit is quite slim. I am a 40 inch chest, and the medium was much too tight (now have a large). In the face of wind, rain and cold temps this smock is faultless. Compared to the mountain shirt it is quite alot thicker and appears to be somewhat heavier, but overall with the added bonus of a proper hood (detachable) it represents excellent value for money.
Very hot, good athletic cut. I am 6'6" with long arms, XL is perfect. Use it with baselayer and back pack, good ventillation and breathability, no accumulated inner-humidity. Very comfortable, skin friendly materials. Pertex 6 is very very tough. Can handle heavy rains, it is not waterproof by the companies description(IT IS BY MINE, not as an EVENT fabrique but it is ), but even if you got soaked, it keeps you warm, and if you are keep on moving dries out very fast, there is no loft inside what would keep the water. Highly Recommend (Comparing the resolute, what is a cooker, price+value goood)
