Great jacket all round. Crux provide no frills top end , does what it says on the tin, clothing. Pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for. Have worn this every day for the last month or so for everyday use. V light, V warm and V waterproof.
Havent yet had it out in anger on the hill, but would be prefect for moderate winter outings, belays in poor weather etc. I had the Magma last year which is the next level up and it was simply too warm for anything bar cold winter belays on Scottish hillsides or summit day on Ama Dablam!
Really happy with the purchase.

I've found my Plasma jacket to be excellent in use. Crux have managed to combine a number of elements into one garment making it genuinely functional; something that's not easy to do with down from a UK perspective. The eVent outer makes the jacket as good as any dedicated shell in the wet, and they've pitched the amount of down fill at just the right level - their filling machine must be set to the 'Goldilocks' level :) I've been able to use this as a combined waterproof, insulation and back-up/safety garment in the Alps, saving me carrying a second jacket, and yet it's light enough to roll up into its' own hood and disappear in the sack. Probably most important, though, is the fact that it is so comfortable and appealing to wear - that, after all, is at the core of what really good clothing is all about.

I have been after a decent down jackwet for years, and have always thought why hasn't anyone put an event shel around a good down jacket. Well this is it! Excellent warmth and fit with great room to move. It has been to the Tasmanian Highlands in the snow and was excellent. The eVent lets the down breath (so it doesn't get soggy) and also keeps you dry. Great jacket
