Purchasing this cord I was hoping to use it for a different purpose than that which it is usually intended... I have a pair of trainers which have metal eyelets and the conventional laces I have been using have been snapping regularly, a most frustrating situation. The problem is that as the laces are pulled tight they are gradually fraying as they rub against the eyelets. I bought a length of this cord, cut 2 pieces to size, sealed the ends, and am using them as replacement laces. They are perfect! The outer sheath is not fraying and I've no more worries about snapped laces and loose shoes! Great product!
