Buffalo DP clothing works brilliantly in cold wet weather. Worn next to the skin you will feel warm and dry even if wet with rain or perspiration. The wicking ability is amazing and gone are the times of having to change out thermals soaked under your waterproofs at the end of a walk or after a climb. If the weather is really gnarly and you need to stop for food or the wind is howling and an extra layer is needed or if climbing and need to add a layer - the belay jacket is just the thing you need. Buy the expedition hood which is wired and volume adjustable and has a fixed face cover which can be rolled back and Velcro’d out the way and you have the perfect second layer.

Buffalo's Belay Jacket, size 42 to slip over a size 40 shirt, is the warmest jacket I have come across. Only snag I found is that the collar above the velcro tends to collapse. Two handy zipped side pockets.
