I recently retired from 40 years as a forensic photographer. The last 15 years I was based in the East Coast of the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. I bought the S6 to keep me warm on those frequent occasions I would be called out to process crash & crime scenes especially during Winter months especially up in the mountains towards Mt Cook. This garment kept its promise and me warm & dry for many years of call-outs with no more than a micro-fibre 'T' shirt underneath. All those stood around me in issued gear would be shivering... but not the Police photographer - toasty & dry. Retired now the S6 serves me on my Winter walks along the coast and beautiful Caroline Bay. I'm adding the hood and can't wait for that to arrive. Most highly recommended clothing for actives in challenging & changing conditions. It could save your life....!

I got this so I could just do day walks in the winter around south England so hardly rough toughy areas. I have only had it a short while, but using it on day walks only it is so warm, even in the snow ( ok about 1cm deep) you are warm. Light rain just comes off no problem. It says not waterproof but not tested or intend to. I would normal wera walking shirt fleece and water proof jacket and be cool. I bought the hood to very nice too. I do wear a base layer. Wish I had bought one earlier. This will extend time I can get out in cold. Feels so less "bulky" than layer system. Not sure if I would have bottle to do a backpacking trip over a period of days. But getting converted.

I've only had the S6 shirt about a week. It is a little cumbersome to put on until you get the hang of it. And there has been a little excitement when the neck zipper didn't easily release so I could lower it to get remove the shirt.
However, the weather has cooperated with testing the S6. Local temperatures have been 5˚F ( 15˚C) or lower and I have been warm when active while wearing 200wt long sleeved Icebreaker shirt beneath the S6 shirt.
An added bonus is my son is taller than me by 6 inches and out weights me by several pounds, but he has a smaller chest. The S6 fits him and on short trips on an ATV in only slightly warmer temperatures he reports he was completely warm despite the extra wind chill while riding.
