DMM Shadow HMS Carabiner - Kwiklock
A large, yet lightweight, HMS carabiner with a short gate to maximise gate opening. The deep and wide top basket can take three clove hitches (<9.5mm rope).

HMS connectors are pear shaped and often have similar characteristics to ovals in how they deal with loaded components, i.e. they also allow devices and connectors to self-centre. Moreover, the extended basket allows for additional component connection. Knots in a system such as an Italian hitch can rotate easily between taking in and paying out (even with larger diameter ropes). In general, HMS connectors are slightly oversized to accommodate the added volume of bigger ropes and to feel secure in a gloved hand.

- Keylock nose eliminates snagging - This carabiner's nose slots into a groove in the gate, allowing it to achieve full strength without a gate notch. This creates a clean internal profile that won't catch on gear, bolts or slings, giving easier clipping and stripping of routes.
- I-Beam construction for optimum strength to weight ratio - I-Beam construction techniques allow carabiners to be lighter without compromising strength. This is achieved through hot forging, a process which allows metal to be made into complex shapes that improve functionality.
- Kwiklock locking systems: Auto-locking gate requiring two separate actions to open. Kwiklock gates are suitable when auto-locking gates are a necessity, but rigging systems are relatively static and anchor points are easy to monitor.
