Wallnuts are a long established favourite across the world. This classic wired nut has a carefully designed shape that gives you the best possible chance of getting a good solid placement every time.

Wallnuts are the basis on which to build a comprehensive climbing rack. Complemented by other, more specialised pieces of protection, they are guaranteed to be the most regularly used piece of protection on your harness. Think of it as the platform upon which you can build your own personalised system.

Over the years DMM have continued to refine and improve the design. Modern production techniques have allowed them to make huge reductions in the weight, but without sacrificing strength or durability. The tried and tested Wallnut shape has been enhanced by adding a scoop to improve security in shallow placements.

They’ve also colour coded them to make size selection easier. The energy you will save by making speedy nut placements could be the difference between success and failure on a route.
The colours are compatible with other nut brands, so if you’re thinking of mixing and matching, or want to switch brands entirely you won’t have to get used to a new colour/size pattern.

The large contact surface area of the Micro Wallnuts (1/2 and 3/4) allows them to spread loads over a greater area of rock, decreasing the chance of the rock failing. They feature straight sides to give alternative placement options to our other alloy micro-protection. Used in conjunction with Peenuts they provide comprehensive protection for small cracks in friable rock.

• Curved taper gives stable placements and resists lifting out: A Wallnut's curving taper fits a wide variety of cracks in different rock types. Their design creates three points of contact between the nut and rock in a placement, giving stable placements that resist lifting out.
• Allows placement in two orientations for increased versatility: Passive protection can be placed either side or face on, doubling the number of cracks any single piece can protect.
• Grooved faces improve security in irregular rock: Wallnuts and Offsets have a groove machined into their faces, allowing them to sit better in irregular placements and on highly featured rock. This makes them more versatile across different rock types.
• Colour coded for easy size identification: The DMM protection range is colour coded for quick and easy size selection. Colours are co-ordinated across passive and active protection, for quick selection of alternatives if your first choice doesn't fit.
