Bought a pair of Meindl Caracas shoes 3 years ago and have worn them almost constantly since. They are extremely hard wearing and so comfortable. The soles have hardly worn at all and despite the fact that I haven't maintained the leather as I should have, they are still in excellent condition. That's why I bought another pair this week, buying the Meindl wax this time! I'm well shod for the next 5 years thanks to Meindl!
I've been in these shoes for almost a month, very pleased so far - sturdy leather uppers, solid vibram sole, and a smart-ish look that means they double up as smart casual shoes when not hiking. The half sizes are helpful for getting just the right fit. Delighted with the service from Jacksons.
