Review: Good fit, really warm and it looks good. Robust zips, plenty of pockets, covered zip with Velcro. Good body fit prevents loss of warm air. Rate for warm 5/5 and water resistance 3/5. Great jacket. Recommended

I debated long and hard whether to buy this coat. In the end, my concerns about wearing a nearly 4 pound coat went by the boards, and I’m glad they did. Like all Mountain Equipment coats, the parka fits superbly, and is not gigantic and oversized like some expedition coats. The hood is very snug and very well insulated. Your head and torso will not get cold at extreme temperatures with this coat, I’m quite sure. One negative is the 700 (only) fill power down but this is balanced by nearly 14 oz of it (L) and the rugged 40 denier fabric. The pockets are first rate, and the coat looks and feels great. There’s better expedition parkas that weigh a lot less but not for the price of the Annapurna. Recommended.
