Mountain Equipment Mens Rupal Waterproof Jacket  £240.00

I have just bought this jacket to replace my previous Gore Tex Pro hardshell that I have had for around 10 yrs as it no longer fits. First impressions are great. It feels very hardy due to the 75D used throughout, and the hood is great. I love this brand, and have a Skardu jacket from them too. I will say that the arm length on this Rupal is longer than that on the Skardu, but not to the poiont that it feels too big.

I am 6ft 1" and purchased the large in the Cosmos colour. It is hard to tell from the images on this site but the colour is a really nice dark blue. I would have loved the red one but having recently had a puppy join the family i didn't want her jumping up and ruining it !)


From a deivery point this time round it was so much better than when I purchased my Skardu from this site. I chose the Royal Mail option last time and my jacket took nearly 3 weeks to arrive with minimal tracking details available. This time I payed the sizable difference for DHL delivery and it was great. Jacket arrived in 5 business days, tracked from start to finish and gave me a time window on day of delivery. I would hihly recommend anyone purchasing from this site to use that option as it takes the worry away of your expensive investment going AWOL on the way here.

Well made light weight goretex jacket from Mountain equipment. Size Large purchased to fit 38 inch chest. Good sleeve length even with my long arms providing good coverage. A little shorter in the body length than my old Berghaus jacket, but most new jackets appear to be made that way. The jacket has an "Alpine fit" being more of a tighter fit on the body. Recently used with a fleece and belay jacket underneath and was a snug fit but still did not feel to restrictive (an XL might not have fitted to well). The jacket has a large peak which can be optimally positioned for visibility using the adjustable elasticated cord. Pleased so far and provided adequate protection during a recent walk encountering snow and sleet.

I'm 5'11 and weigh 90kg. Bought size medium which fits perfect.
Great jacket. Arms a little long, but can understand why. This won't appeal to everyone. Better to be too long than too short.
