A versatile, durable windproof jacket that combines with our Men’s Bentu Fleeces to form a warm, waterproof system for use during walking and nature activities.
The Bentu windproof uses Nikwax® Duology Windproof fabric with zoned Pump Liner®, which can cut a gale-force wind and protect against showers when worn alone.
Nikwax® Duology waterproof system: the new 3-season outdoor combination. The fleece and windproof two piece system is designed to be combined, perfect while you're active in a variety of conditions.
Choose a Bentu Windproof for its outstanding adaptability; The Bentu windproof cuts wind chill, deflects rain and traps still air in the fibres of Bento Duology fleeces. The wire-peaked hood rolls away securely and the generous pocketing allows for storage of OS maps and valuables. So expect durable protection and adaptable temperature control during a variety of outdoor activities.
In very cold weather and/or persistent rain we recommend a Páramo Analogy® waterproof jacket rather than a Duology system.
A baselayer worn underneath a windproof is an excellent combination in warmer conditions when less insulation is required
Size Tip: The Bentu Windproof Jacket has a generous / loose cut to allow it to fit comfortably over the Bentu Fleece or Plus Fleece. If you intend to only use this garment without the fleece, we recommend buying one size smaller than the size chart suggests.
Review: “As a keen Nordic walker and hill climber who gets hot and sweaty as soon as I get moving, most outdoor gear has been uncomfortable. I bought the Bentu Fleece and Windproof Jackets and have found the perfect system. So light and versatile.”
Review: “The Bentu Plus Fleece is amazing on its own, even in freezing conditions on the way to Uhuru Peak, Kilimanjaro. I've just added the windproof and already loving the flexibility this combination provides. Great kit, highly recommended!“
Review: “Duology system is Paramo’s take on making an Analogyjackets more flexible, and easy to use in varying conditions."
Features:
The Bentu Windproof is for outdoor people who need flexible protection in changeable conditions.
If you enjoy walking or being in nature, you need a versatile jacket suitable for these activities. Good protection from wind and showers and something to keep you warm is essential. However, you also need to be able to keep cool when working hard.
In warmer weather, the Bentu Windproof provides wind and water resistant protection when worn over a baselayer. In cooler conditions, it can be combined with a Bentu Fleece or Plus Fleece for differing levels of insulation and waterproofing, depending on the weather and activity.
In very cold weather and/or persistent rain we recommend a Páramo Analogy® waterproof jacket rather than a Duology system.
The Bentu Windproof Jacket has a fully adjustable and stowable hood, excellent pocketing, and is designed to combine with the Bentu Fleece or Plus Fleece.
Extra rain protection in the areas of highest impact from zoned Pump Liner in the hood and across the shoulders.
Safe, secure storage from two easy access chest pockets, both large enough to hold an Ordnance Survey map.
Two zipped handwarming pockets provide additional storage and allow access to the fleece pockets.

Paramo Windproof - Páramo windproofs are extremely breathable and highly water repellent, providing durable weather protection for use in changing conditions. A Duology windproof cuts windchill, deflects rain and traps still air in the fibres of the fleeces to provide varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the weather conditions and activity.
Prevents windchill, to keep you warm.
Easily treated and re-treated with PFC free Nikwax Aftercare products to keep you dry too.
Excellent moisture vapour transfer or breathability minimises condensation.
Extremely resilient and durable fabric, highly resistant to degradation in UV light
Folds and compresses without any damage making it ideal to pack and carry
Nikwax® Duology Waterproof System - The Nikwax Duology innovation goes one step further by combining two garments (layers) to form one system – ensuring an even broader range of protection, with no extra weight. The top layer consists of a Nikwax Duology Windproof, which is a tightly woven 100% polyester microfibre treated with Nikwax PFC-free Durable Water Repellency (DWR). Its primary function is to keep out the wind, of course, and to deflect rain, although it also protects from the sun and biting insects. The second, inner, layer consists of a Nikwax Duology Fleece, also treated with Nikwax PFC-free DWR, which provides insulation and directs moisture away from the body.
Worn alone, these layers are fully appropriate (especially in the autumn/winter months), but when combined, the Windproof enhances the insulation of the Fleece and the Fleece enhances the water repellency of the Windproof. The Duology system can withstand an impressive 4 hours of simulated rainfall in the Leeds University Rain Room and will keep its wearer warm and dry on a cold, wet day.
Ultimately, Nikwax Duology is an additional Páramo waterproof system for outdoor enthusiasts and workers. It is adaptable to the changing – and frequently unreliable – seasons, and the escalating issue of climate instability. In the ‘old days’ we could predict fairly accurately when winter or summer would begin and end, however, it is not uncommon now to experience warm weather in December and to see the mercury plunge in March. Thus, in return for combining a Nikwax Duology Windproof and Fleece, you are guaranteeing adaptability on your adventures.
Nikwax Duology is quiet, soft, puncture tolerant, field repairable and is free of PFCs and other persistent chemicals of concern. The waterproof performance is indefinitely renewable with Nikwax Aftercare giving a longer wear life, with lower environmental impact. All Nikwax Duology fabrics are recyclable.
In what kind of weather conditions can I use my Bentu Windproof Jacket?
Used alone, the Bentu Jacekt’s windproof, water-resistant fabric provides protection against wind and showers in warmer environments.
Combined with a Bento Duology fleeces, the system provides varying levels of insulation and waterproofing depending on the time of year, weather and activity. The fleeces come in two weights to suit different requirements and conditions.
Duology Bento Windproof and Bento Plus Fleece waterproof combination
Suitable for cooler, wetter conditions
Breathable and windproof
Thick pile fleece provides superior insulation
Durable Water Repellent coating on each fabric makes them both highly water repellent
Duology Bento Windproof and Bento Fleece combination:
Suitable for warmer, drier conditions
Protects against mist and drizzle
Thin pile fleece is highly windproof and can be worn alone in light showers
We do not recommended this combination for cold weather and persistent rain
The Bentu Duology combination has been tested to resist at least 4 hours of heavy rain, which is approximately five times the intensity of normal heavy rain in the UK.
In very cold weather and/or persistent rain we recommend a Páramo Analogy waterproof jacket rather than a Duology system.
A baselayer worn underneath a windproof is an excellent combination in warmer conditions when less insulation is required
Regularly wash it with Nikwax Tech Wash® to remove dirt and revive its water repellency. If, after washing, the outer fabric absorbs water (it does not run off in beads) it is time to reproof your garment with Nikwax TX.Direct®.
If your waterproof picks up a contamination which cannot be removed in a normal wash, Páramo can professionally wash and reproof it for you.
What if I damage my Nikwax Duologry® Windproof clothing?
Simple repairs can often be done with a needle and thread without compromising the performance of your Páramo gear.
If you seriously damage a garment, you can send it back to Páramo and request a quote for having it mended – most damage can be repaired!
Ethics & Environment
Páramo clothing does not rely on hazardous fluorocarbon (PFC) treatments in its finishing or aftercare processes.
Nikwax Duology fabric systems are uniquely suited to recycling as they avoid the need for mixed materials, membranes or taped seams. Instead, they use 100% polyester, which unlike many materials, can be broken down and reformed into new, high quality fibres.

PÁRAMO SIZING GUIDE
Páramo® garments are specified using metric measurements, therefore the metric measurements in this chart are the most accurate. Imperial equivalents are rounded to the nearest half number.
Páramo® measurements in the chart relate to body rather than garment measurements – thus, for example, a leg length measurement given here is for a person’s leg length, not the actual leg length of the garment to reflect the fact that Páramo® garments are designed specifically for active use.
Páramo® Easy Fit - More generous fit
Páramo® Athletic Fit - Fits closely to body contours – for example, Bentu Windproof Jacket - loose fitting to accommodate under layers such Bentu fleece and Bentu Plus fleece, so if not wearing much underneath, go for the size down
