Working with outdoor professionals such as Joe Cornish and John Aitchison, a new deluxe version of the much acclaimed Pájaro Jacket is now ready to hit the hills and wildlife hides.
The Halcon Jacket is designed to be used for outdoor enthusiasts - but especially those who want lots of practical carrying space, with nine easily accessible pockets, that's four more than the Pájaro! The fleece-lined collar and handwarming pockets provide additional comfort.
The Halcon Jacket uses the Nikwax Analogy® Waterproof fabric system, with features designed to enhance the excellent weatherproofing without the rustle of membrane fabric, with excellent ventilation and generous pockets for essential equipment.
This jacket ensures you can maintain your comfort without taking layers on and off!
Fit Tip: The Paramo Halcon jackets are large fitting. We recommend to size down: order the next size smaller than the size chart suggests.
"As zip front jackets go, Halcon is the Swiss Army knife! There are pockets for everything, including zippable hand-warmer pockets. The neck-warming collar and hood is superb, and, as with all Páramo garments, the fit and finish of the fabric is impeccable. Being wind and waterproof while still highly breathable make it perfect for active use in our weather, while the generous cut gives ample space for an insulating layer beneath while waiting for the light to change on a winter day. A fantastic all-rounder." Joe Cornish, Landscape Photographer
The Halcon Jacket is ideal for country activities from walking to nature watching and photography.
Country activities involve exertion while moving, then being stationary for long periods. To remain comfortable, you need efficient moisture control to prevent chilling, and ventilation options to reduce clothing changes. Essential equipment needs to be within easy reach with minimal disruption.
Tough directional Nikwax Analogy® Waterproof fabric gives dry comfort, with easy temperature control provided by vents. The Halcon offers carefully planned pocketing.

The Halcon Jacket has plentiful pockets, good ventilation options and a well-designed hood.
Excellent, easily accessible storage from nine well-placed pockets, including fleece-lined handwarming pockets.
Additional ventilation which limits the need for clothing changes from upper arm vents, two way front zip and sleeves that can be pushed up for cooling.
Uninterrupted vision in all weathers due to the fully-adjustable hood with wired peak which moves with you and folds into a fleecy collar.
Nikwax Analogy Waterproof fabric is more than just breathable, it is directional.
This means it is capable of moving liquid water away from your body and not just water vapour.
It is essential to avoid a build-up of water in your clothing system when you are working hard, as too much retained moisture will lead to your body rapidly chilling when you stop and rest.
In conventional clothing systems, approximately 20% of sweat production is dealt with effectively, leaving the remaining 80% trapped inside.
Nikwax Analogy garments are unique, in that they pump out this 80% of liquid water and allow it to drain away; you are left feeling dry and comfortable.

In what kind of weather conditions can I use my Halcon Jacket?
The Halcon Jacket has been tested to resist at least 4 hours of intense rain; so you can use it throughout the year in cold or wet conditions.
Because the fabric system offers significant insulation, this is not the best garment to deal with heavy showers in very hot conditions. In that case we would recommend a Nikwax Windproof, perhaps combined with one of our Parameta T+ baselayers, to optimise breathability and cooling.
How do I care for my Páramo waterproof?
Regularly wash it with Nikwax Tech Wash® to remove dirt and revive its water repellency. If, after washing, the outer fabric absorbs water (it does not run off in beads) it is time to reproof your garment with Nikwax TX.Direct®.
If your waterproof picks up a contamination which cannot be removed in a normal wash, Páramo can professionally wash and reproof it for you.
What if I damage my Nikwax Analogy® Waterproof clothing?
Simple repairs can often be done with a needle and thread without compromising the performance of your Páramo gear.
If you seriously damage a garment, you can send it back to Páramo and request a quote for having it mended – most damage can be repaired!
Ethics & Environment
Páramo clothing does not rely on hazardous fluorocarbon (PFC) treatments in its finishing or aftercare processes.
Nikwax Analogy fabric systems are uniquely suited to recycling as they avoid the need for mixed materials, membranes or taped seams. Instead, they use 100% polyester, which unlike many materials, can be broken down and reformed into new, high quality fibres.

PÁRAMO SIZING GUIDE
Páramo® garments are specified using metric measurements, therefore the metric measurements in this chart are the most accurate. Imperial equivalents are rounded to the nearest half number.
Páramo® measurements in the chart relate to body rather than garment measurements – thus, for example, a leg length measurement given here is for a person’s leg length, not the actual leg length of the garment to reflect the fact that Páramo® garments are designed specifically for active use.
Páramo® Easy Fit - More generous fit – for example, Velez Adventure smock & Velez Light smock. If you are close to the next size down, best to go down to the smaller size
Páramo® Athletic Fit - Fits closely to body contours – for example, Alta jacket, Velez jacket, Helki jacket, Mirada jacket, Velez Hybrid smock & Enduro models. If you are close to the next size up, best to go up to the larger size
