This is my top of choice when its too warm for my trusty old Buffalo and I want to be sure of some protection. I wear my VR over a base layer or next the skin on warmer days and find it extremely wicking of sweat under both of these scenarios. Great wind protection and pretty good on the rain resistance - ideal in light showers or continuous drizzle when a full waterproof is not required. Folds up small and is light when not worn and is in the pack just-in-case. 10 out of 10 to Rab.

This is the perfect garment for winter usage, whether you are in the street, or climbing. Great protection from the wind, and provides the adequate level of warm in cold weather, when you are doing activities with high level of exertion.
It is designed to fit slender people, so size up to be on the safe side.

I have recently used one of these smocks during a cycling holiday in the Peak District, and I have to say that it performed exactly as the name suggests. Worn over a thin base layer, lowe apline dry-flo t-shirt the smock performed very well and despite wearing a rucksack (albeit vented back) there was no build up of the horrible perspiration when the going got hard. It withstood wind and rain very well, and was warm when on the move. Required a belay jacket to be worn over when resting etc, as you would expect, but overall a quality product. I have previously used a Buffalo active lite shirt, and I think I can now say that this Rab item is better! (And I am true Buffalo fan!)

I wear my Vapour Rise Trail Smock both climbing and for foul weather flatland running. Biking too. It's one of my favorite bits of kit. Too bad they aren't making them any more. I wish I had bought two. It has an "athletic" fit, meaning it fits my skinny body perfectly. It might be a little too snug for someone of average or heavy build. Arms are long-ish for comfortable overhead reaching or for riding a bicycle. It handles sweat and precipitation as advertised. Not as wind resistant as a Pertex 6 Pile & Pertex garment.

I picked this discontinued smock up at a great price from Jackson Sports. I was very pleased to track it down as I much prefer the smock design.

The smock is incredibly light and you hardly know you are wearing it, especially on the arms. You forget you've got it on.

I would have given it 5 stars but for two reasons, as with all Rab gear, even an XXL is tight across the chest for me. Arms, wasit, everything else is fine. My other slight moan is the handwarmer pockets aren't zipped and are open to the elements.

Apart form that, it is a very smart, warm, windproof smock and highly recommended.
