Rab Neutrino 400 Down Sleeping Bag -7C / 20F - Women's

A 800FP goose down sleeping bag with a recycled, wind resistant Pertex® Quantum outer. Designed with a narrow mummy fit, for reduced bulk and pack size, and constructed with lightweight, high performance materials. It’s perfect for three season mountain missions.

The Women’s Neutrino 400 is filled with 400g of 800FP, goose down, stabilised in chevron shaped baffles, cleverly designed to reduce the amount of fabric needed compared to traditional horizontal baffles. The trapezoid boxwall baffle construction allows the down to fully loft, eliminates cold spots, and maximises warmth. Additional baffles along the length of the zip and around the neck decrease heat loss, and with an adjustable drawcord around the hood you can cinch the bag around your face. The women’s specific cut is fractionally shorter than the regular bag but is filled with the same weight of down, with a narrower shoulder and marginally wider hip space for comfort and efficiency.

Now built with a recycled nylon lining and recycled Pertex® Quantum outer, it’s wind resistant and a little lighter on the planet too. The down is also finished with a Nikwax, fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic treatment for coping with condensation. It has a ¾ length zip with anti-snag zip guards, a zipped internal stash pocket and comes with a waterproof roll-top compression sack for easy stashing.

Hand-filled in the UK, all our down bags benefit from never having had their down compressed before use, maintaining the down’s loft and warmth.

  • Women's fit - Men and women lose heat differently, with women requiring an extra 2.5°C / 36.5°C  to maintain the same core temperature. Our women’s down bags are cut shorter with narrower shoulders but filled with the same volume of down to accommodate this.

Rab Sleep Limit Explained - Need help choosing the right bag for your next adventure? This is our real-world assessment of a sleeping bag's usable temperature limit. At Rab, we use the EN ISO 23537 standard to rate most of our sleeping bags. This standard is in place to help give baseline temperature measurements of sleeping bags across the industry. The EN ISO test produces a series of temperature limits which are described as:

  • The Comfort Rating indicates the minimum temperature where an individual can sleep in a relaxed position and get a good night’s sleep.
  • The Limit of Comfort Rating is the temperature range where an individual sleeping in a curled position and fighting against the cold can still sleep through the night.
  • The Extreme Rating is for an emergency scenario – it’s the minimum temperature a person can remain in the sleeping bag for up to six hours in a curled position while really fighting against the cold. It’s worth bearing in mind that frostbite at these temperatures is very possible.

Fair Wear Foundation - Together with Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), Rab are working to achieve fair working conditions worldwide. Our production gives employment to over 20,000 people.
